Motion Trails — Support

Turn a short, locked-off clip into a daylight long-exposure where moving subjects leave trails.

Getting the best results

• Hold the camera still. Prop your phone on a ledge or use a tripod — only the subject should move, not the camera.
• Use a fast subject. Birds, cyclists, traffic, waves and sports work best. Slow drift like clouds is intentionally ignored.
• Tap “Try a demo clip” on first launch to see the effect immediately before shooting your own.

Frequently asked

My subject isn’t leaving a trail.

Open Motion and raise the motion sensitivity, and check the subject hint under Trails — choose “Silhouette” for dark subjects on a bright sky, or “Highlight” for bright subjects on a dark background. Faster movement leaves stronger trails.

The trails look too sparse or too dense.

Adjust Trail density. You can also set Fade so older trails melt away, and pick a colour gradient under Effects.

Parts of the scene I don’t want are forming trails.

Use Ignore regions to brush over busy water or foliage so trails only form where you want.

How do I save or share my video?

After generating, tap Save to add it to Photos, or Share to send it anywhere. Exports are loop-ready video files.

Is the app really free?

Yes — every effect is unlocked, with no watermark, no subscription and no in-app purchases.
