Overview
Doggy Daycare Manager stores the information you enter about dogs, their owners, veterinarians, emergency contacts, medical records, photos, and digital signatures so that you can run your daycare operations. No information is collected automatically beyond what you provide in the app.
Data lives locally on your device inside the application sandbox. You have two optional cloud features:
- CloudKit Sync: Automatically syncs your data to your private iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit service. Data is stored as structured records in your private CloudKit container. Apple encrypts this data at rest and in transit.
- iCloud Drive Backups: Manually export JSON backups to a folder in your iCloud Drive. These files are unencrypted JSON, though Apple encrypts data stored in iCloud Drive at the infrastructure level.
Both features use your personal iCloud account and are completely optional. All cloud data remains private to you.
The app collects and stores only the information you explicitly enter:
- Dog information: names, photos, breed, date of birth, physical characteristics
- Medical data: vaccination records, medical history, current medications, dietary requirements, allergies, treatment dates
- Behavioral data: aggression history, behavioral notes, exercise restrictions
- Owner details: names, phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses
- Emergency contacts: names, phone numbers, addresses, and relationships
- Veterinarian information: practice names, contact details, addresses
- Digital signatures: consent form signatures with timestamps
- Consent permissions: off-lead consent, water access, feeding preferences, photo permissions
- Daily records: attendance, feeding times, check-in/out times, care notes, temperature readings
- Documents: uploaded vaccine certificates and consent forms
How We Use Data
- Contact information enables you to communicate with clients via email or WhatsApp.
- Vaccination and consent dates power reminder notifications you choose to send.
- Medical and behavioral history helps you provide appropriate care for each dog.
- Daily records create a documented history of care provided.
- Emergency contact information is available when urgent situations arise.
- Photos help identify dogs and can be shared with owner permission.
We never sell or share any of the information you store in the app. Everything stays on your device and your personal iCloud account (if you enable cloud features).
Data Retention & Deletion
- Data is stored indefinitely on your device until you delete it.
- Archived dogs remain in your database but are hidden from daily views.
- You can permanently delete individual dogs from Settings → Data Management.
- CloudKit data remains in your iCloud account until you disable sync or delete the app.
- iCloud Drive backups remain until you manually delete them from the Files app.
- Deleting the app removes all local data but does not delete cloud data.
Your Choices
- You can export a complete backup at any time from Settings → Data Management → Export Backup.
- You can import previously exported data from Settings → Data Management → Import Backup.
- CloudKit sync can be disabled by removing the app’s iCloud permissions in device Settings.
- iCloud Drive backups are manual and only created when you tap “Export to iCloud Drive.”
- You control which owners receive communications through email or WhatsApp templates.
- Photo permissions are tracked per dog and you decide what images to capture.
